Recived a latter on 21st of december to submit some more infomation onky given till 4th of jan to.do so lines re open on 2nd today for mw to ring at 8.30 to be first in que or atleast not on hold for a long yime well my aim was to just ask for a simpal extention yo provide documants they asked for to be told might not be able to do anything at all today as all there systams are down 2 weeks they get of at xmas and the day there all bk they cnt even do anything this is rediclouse as if i dont get what theu need by 4th or get on systom for extention they will compleatley close the claim and have to go threw all of this stress again i just got yo add that non of this is becouse of anything i done we already had a live active claim before atorm alie took are roof of knowing we only gone temperery rather then suspending claim as was fully aware we was returning bk they just closed its all together dispite being told it would be suspendid tillnwe returned

Would give 0 if I could. Wait times for telephone operators are always over 40mins. The IVR is over complicated and fails. Online services don't seem to work or register. Staff I've dealt with so far, have been unfriendly and abrupt. Much prefer Doncaster or Nottinghamshire Council.
Would give them 0 stars if I could. Impossible to get hold of them about H.B. on the phone. Every option you select, you just get an automated message telling you to go to their website instead, then the phone gets put down on you. Disgraceful.
This is my first time needing to claim and this is by far my worst experience of our council EVER.Firstly the forms are long winded but the upload document page does not accept standard formats like JPEG!? The phone lines cut you off on EVERY option you try, you may as well set the answerphone message to say We have no interest in you or your needs, we do not take any calls and we simply do not care how desperate you are for help with your benefits Also, the contact us form to try that route also has an error message conveniently so you cannot submit!! 3 weeks after my claim and I have heard nothing, submitted at the same time as a JSA claim which despite the bad press they get was done promptly, I was seen in a week and my claim paid for the first payment all before housing bwnefits have even acknowledged my form!! APPALLING
