Came on a school trip with my son. What a wonderful bunch of staff and absolutely loved it, stunning place, very well thought out talks for the age group of children, a little more interaction like finding symbols or statues would have been good to keep their attention but still a really good day trip, religious education and local history into one.
First time I have been in since the refurbishment. I am glad that the Holy Spirit chapel has largely been left as is though I think with easier access. The rest looks cleaner and lighter. The cafe, also part of the refurbishment, and was pleasant and the staff helpful.
A beautiful cathedral in the heart of Sheffield. Even if you're waiting for a tram at the adjacent tram stop, do pop in for a quick look around, you won't be disappointed. If you've got more time to spare then why not pop into the cafe? I last visited on a day when the cathedral was offering 'carols galore'. A wonderful service with lots of carols for the whole family to enjoy.
We've been past so many times without going inside. Finally decided to have a look and if you like old buildings it is definitely worth the visit. Very peaceful when we were there although there were a few people also looking round (probably because it's so central - most places like this are more rural and therefore empty).Includes a well stocked gift shop by the entrance.
