Small butt very friendly helpful staff and fascinating to see the wheels in action.
This is a lovely place to visit, especially as it is free. A nice part of Sheffields heritage ehi h is being preserved. I took my little ones and they loved seeing the wbeel spinning and the grindstones turning.
A great place to visit as part of a walk along the porter brook. There are lots of Dams and sites of long gone water-wheel powered industrial sites along the river, but it's amazing to see one that's still in such good condition. Seeing the water wheel going and driving the grindstones makes this place really special, as it was 90 years ago. The volunteers who I spoke to were very knowledgeable and made the visit extra special.
Nice little place to visit with a very pleasant informative lady on hand to answer questions.Bit of a mystery to find to start with the car but if you park on Westwood way then you can walk through the gate and by the side of the river straight to it.
Lovely little museum with friendly staff. Really fascinating to see the water wheel actually working the equipment. They've also got a proper fire going in the winter. Make sure you pick some of the wild raspberries which have escaped from the allotments in the autumn.
