We went to a private function here on saturday the 2nd of february, it was a surprise 30th party, one of our friends was sat there with a baseball cap on for 3 & half hour without anything being said, this is with the (stand in) manager walking through the function all night and the bar staff, after the 3 and half hour the (stand in) manager, walked over with an attitude and told him to take his hat off, baring in mind hes been sat there for 3 & half hour, so obviously people were questioning why he had to take it off when first of all he had been let in with the hat on anyway, and second of all he had been sat there for all that time with the hat on without a word being said, the way the stand in manager (miss attitude) approached us and proceded to talk to people is disgusting, and then to stand there near the buffet table glaring at the person she had told to take the hat off when he had already was very unprofessional, the bouncer that she called in to back her up, (the same bouncer that let the man in with the same hat on), then started with an attitude and started contradicting himself quoting the policy all the time, ( but yet he let him in and had been passing through the private function all night and said nothing about the cap), this place is the biggest contradiction to itself its pathetic, first time we had ever been in and thats the last, first impressions count for everything!!
Had a blinding night here in Private room, but was amazed how the prices changed for the same two drinks all night... Started out at 10.70..then rose to 12.70 after a few as the bar staff obviously thought we wouldn't notice, then they tried charging us 9.00 for one gin n tonic whichwas shutdown straight away then they charged 8.70 for next drinks, obviously they were feeling bad at their overchargingOverall I would recommend but the bar staff I wouldn't
Left a 1 star because couldn't leave 0 star review. Rude staff (bouncers and manager/supervisor were verbally abusive and unhelpful), slow service, basically a ruined night out. Never again, thanks.
Easily my favourite bar in Sheffield. I've had many a great night here.
