Nice place threw out the year. At Halloween they turn the water green. And at Christmas they have a bar. As well as in summer they have Sheffield by the seaside and turn the whole place into a beach with rides and food stalls etc.
We visited while the place was decorated for Christmas 2018. What we saw was very nice. Water features, plenty of seating. I bet it's nice on a sunny day - we were there in the early evening when it was dark. Still had a nice atmosphere though.
The Peace Gardens is one of Sheffield's most popular inner city attractions, it is situated beside the Town Hall on Pinstone Street, opposite the famous Fargate Shopping Precinct.Nearby you can visit the Winter Garden Greenhouse which houses tropical plants from all over the world.Well worth a visit and entry is free all year round.
Lovely relaxing place in the heart of the city, everyone smiling and watching children playing in the fountains. So peaceful despite the hustle and bustle being only a few metres away. Fantastic discovery! Well certainly go back when I revisit Sheffield.
A place of calm and tranquility in the bustle of busy Sheffield city centre. Plenty of seating on which to take in the various goings on of the people and the pigeons. The gardens are sunken which allows the fountains set on the perimeter walls to give a real spectacle. Although they have fountains in one corner that allow children to dance through, the ones I like are the flower bud structures that spew forth water into troughs. Highly recommended.
