QUESTIONABLE & SKETCHY PRACTICESYou're only good for them while you keep paying. After it's just about the scamming scheme to rip you off. My case is a prime example of that. We've been with them for well over a year as tenants. Always paid on time, never had much of an issue apart from a few minor repairs that had to be done on the property after we moved in.We requested an early release of tenancy after finding out that my partner will be relocated due to a promotion. We signed for a renewal about a few days before finding this out. But we were still weeks before the actual renewal date, and were told: Since we signed it, there's nothing they can do.Early release was agreed by the landlord later. So we moved out and i took the property keys back to the office.Few things were taken off the deposit:- Washer/dryer - forgot to replace it (i got rid of the old when moving in, since we had ours and the one already in the property was a really old about 20years old unit)/according to them we "stole it", and they reported it to the police, so why the hell did we pay for it?/(note2: we did tell them about the washing machine, just forgot to replace it)(note3: they originally wanted me to pay for a brand new 365 washer/dryer, which is absolutely disgusting in light of the condition and age of the old one, propably worth about 50 at most)- about 2 days rent which was adjusted at the end of tenancy.( originally claimed that we haven't paid a months rent, even though we paid upfront for every month's)- Cleaning(fair enough, i only washed the carpets before moving out)- 150 for putting 3 electric radiators back onto walls(because they were in the way for our furniture, so took them off)Apart from the fair deductions, they did try to rip us off.About 2 weeks ago we had a viewing arranged to a property(with Martin&co), we really liked it, so decided to put in an application. I did mentioned the radiator stuff to the lettings negotiator, and in the end we paid in the 300 application fee.(Saturday Late afternoon)Monday the same Lettings Negotiator called me, and said that one of his colleagues was kind of bugging him to call me about it, and that they withdrew our application due to having issues with them before.Said that they will refund the application fee, and asked me to email my bank details so that he can pass it onto their accountant. After waiting a week, nothing happened, so i called them. I was then told that they won't refund my application fee, since it failed at the landlord reference.(note: i got a call in the morning after they opened, since the office is closed on Sunday, what referencing are we talking about? I think NONE)They kept making excuses why specific person can't take my calls. Even if they did, i was told they will call me later.(hardly ever happened)My thoughts? They failed to supply us with information after we moved out of the property. Because if i knew, that even after paying everything down to the last penny, they would never ever proceed our application due to claims, which i consider defamation, slander. I would've never used them in the first place. And i understand that you might think that this thing can be done to small people, especially if that is of foreign nationality, but you can't be more wrong.I will keep spreading the word amongst our friends, and on social media. Also worth noting, that even though we're talking about wasted time, and only 300. I worked hard for that money, i would never allow to let it go to waste like this, and will be making further steps in order to recover it, unless we can come to an agreement.
So many inspections compared to other letting agents. One every few months. Bit of a pain when we are working. You deal with a different person each time. So it becomes a he said she said situation. Dealt with Oksana, James, and more later mentioned. Surprise costs. When I ask if the all the starting fees all together was 350. Danika said yes. Then a few more costs popped up. Not open an honest, proper sales types. Then 95 to renew your contract - the only admin is to send us something to sign. Expensive signature. And we were told after contract end, we could do rolling, but when it got round to it we had to sign for another contract. Misled. We wouldnt have paid and moved in if we had have known that. When one agent is on leave, no one checks their emails. Left hanging. When ringing up, Elizabeth said she didnt want to deal with something that wasnt to do with her. She could have given better customer service even if she couldnt help. Really tight when it comes to deposit return. Ive never lost any money til now. Over petty little things. The property was scrubbed cleaner than it was before, yet still lost some money for such things as dust (give me strength). They took more photos end of tenancy than start, should be like for like with the same angles so things stand better for both sides. Nothing of the petty things were ever mentioned on their many inspections, so they didnt give us a heads up. Whats the point of the multiple inspections? Oh yeah to keep quiet and knock money off at the end for petty things just to get some money. Positives - the property its self we chose because it suited us and looked nice, and we had a roof over our heads.
Company centrered around money, no care about the wellbeing of their tenants. They have a slow and bad online service for reporting issues with properties, and took an embarrassing amount of time to fix our roof when there was rain leaking through into our hallway which caused permanent damage to our ceiling and left us without lights for a month?! Bad service caused our landlord to switch letting agents. They have ridiculous unnecessary fees including a 30 pound reference fee which you have to pay if you want to escape being under their control and move to a new letting agency. Now that weve moved out theyre being less than helpful with getting our deposit back.
I'm really happy with the service I've got there .... It's a real value for money .... They respected my needs and always try to helpThe people there are really so nice and helpful. I deal with Danika Gothard , a very nice and helpful person who is very faithful to her job and really knows how to look after her customersMy only concern is that you've to make sure of everything (and I mean everything) before paying or signing anything, or you may end up paying more than what you initially agreed on
Secured the flat and from then on the staff made me feel like I was a priority case even though I'm fully aware they have many more applicants/tenants to deal with. Above and beyond service quality! Rapid, supportive and informative responses to email. (same applies with phone calls). I didn't expect such dedication. Very efficient!
