Discussing overall experience, Chavez as staff no communication skills what so ever, just got told to (DO ONE) when I was accused of stealing a screwdriver from the cars tool kit which was not there in the first place lost my deposit, it's a scam they must have got going on there, I was watching 2 chav worker's in the valeting bay constantly messing about withe the highest value cars reving them to the rev limiter and wheel spinning the cars in reverse. It's the first time renting from thrifty and the absolute last time. Keep away at all costs.
ZERO STARS. Avoid avoid avoid!! Was given a car that was way too fast and I told them repeatedly that I was uncomfortable with this vehicle. Was still forced upon me saying that I couldnt downgrade. But I needed a vehicle to get back to work and ended up having a crash in this car that does 0-60 in 4 seconds. Very irresponsible lending. They are now trying to bill me an excess free of 1350 although I took out and PAID for the cover that reduces youre excess fee to just 250. They have kept my 750 deposit and although ive made official complaints, the Sheffield branch have helped themselves to another 450 out of my bank, even though the relevant paperwork has been sent to them from another branch showing the paperwork that u signed!!!! My bank have luckily refunded the 450 and will dispute them on My behalf seen as I have PROOF of having taken and paid for the express reducing cover. Members of staff have called me and been both threatening, rude, provoking and highly unprofessional. I am going to the BVRLA. Avoid like they plague. They shouldnt be aloud to do business. Other branches are okay. Sheffield branch is like the poster for how NOT to run a business. Vile people, vile service. Disgusted beyond words
Had a very positive experience. Picked a van up, returned it later the same day just before close. No problems. Very friendly staff.
Amazing place so friendly handled an awkward customer with grace and factual. The customer was complaining about a minibus as he was late. How the lady kept her cool I will never know but she was brilliant. I have never had a problem with this company. Always puntual, polite, friendly and cheap!!!! ***** well done thrifty
Did most of the booking online. Got here in advance of the collection time but still needed to wait while they 'inspected' the vehicle (stood around chatting, we were watching through the window). Not exactly the most professional service. Also, informed us of the 250 deposit, but then had to pay extra for that reduced rate as it's normally 500. What?Paid to have the car from 12:30 - 18:00 (eventually the car was ready at 13:30) and then we discovered we needed to drop it off by 17:30 as that's the time the office closed, no chance for a stop for a 270 mile trip.
