Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, beds were comfy and the hotel was extremely local to the areas we visited. Would definitely stay here again.
The room itself was fine, although it would have been nice to get not just body wash but also shampoo. One of the windows in the room had been left open by whoever prepared the room, which I didn't notice as it was behind the curtains. That plus the heater being off meant that when I returned to my room from dinner it was v cold. Was woken up at 4am by the noise of a bin lorry passing through the alleyway the hotel overlooked. Breakfast was fine. Person I stayed at the hotel with was a bit tiresome but that's not the hotel's fault so I haven't marked them down for that.
Staff are very helpful . The rooms are very dated and the decor is from the 70s. The lift was out of order when I arrived and had been for 3 weeks apparently - no mention on the website . My room was on the third floor not very convenient. Wouldn't have stayed there if I had known.
A truly dreadful experience. Lift was not functioning which meant we had to climb a considerable height to reach our room. Dcor very tired. Water pressure very low which made having a shower almost impossible. No AC. Sat on bed, which folded and deposited me on the floor. Stains on the bedding. Lots of noise from outside, we were woken in the small hours by the sound of a tramp going through the bins outside. The church bells were actually quite pleasant but others may not appreciate them late at night. The breakfast was the best part of our stay; cooked fresh to order and good quality.
Location for event I was attending and value (58.50 room only) for a city centre hotel were good, but let down by the following: very small rooms, slowest lift ever, key cards didn't always work, stuck up a narrow back street (OK for me but perhaps not female travelling alone) ... and noisy refuse collection c. 6am. I would pay a little more to resolve all these.
