We went for grandads 70 , lovely food, the scotch egg starter was great. Pizza is good, but my son had the barbacue calzone and it was just a mess. On the staffing issues, the young waitress was very capable,but it took a while for the starters to come and there was only one other party of two in the main restaurant,strange. Grandparents were happy, and if you are patient a not bad place.
This place is under new management., formerly known as Staindrop. A good atmosphere, although the service was a bit on the slow side. My meal was good and I believe the others enjoyed theirs. I will to a few more times before I draw a proper conclusion.
Went to a baby shower here. We had afternoon tea which was lovely and worth the price. Would have been five star if we could all have sat together on one big table but I suppose they may not have had any tables like that.
I only stayed on night but I would rate this hotel. The room was excellent, the food was great (and huge) and the staff were extremely friendly and not to mention helpful. I would stay again if I was in the area.
Fabulous place. Great food big portions. Have stayed lots of times as holds special memories having had our wedding reception here. Not overly expensive
